Shrimp and Broccoli Alfredo Pasta is a rich, creamy, and flavorful dish that brings together succulent shrimp, tender broccoli, and perfectly cooked pasta in a luscious Alfredo sauce that comes together in one pan. This dish is a crowd-pleaser, offering a harmonious balance of protein, vegetables, and carbs, all enveloped in a smooth, garlicky cream sauce that elevates the flavors to new heights.
The shrimp, with its sweet and slightly briny flavor, pairs beautifully with the mild, earthy taste of the broccoli. Together, they add depth and texture to the pasta, creating a dish that feels both comforting and refined. The Alfredo sauce, made from butter, heavy cream, and freshly grated Parmesan cheese, serves as the perfect base, coating each strand of pasta in its velvety richness. A touch of garlic and a sprinkle of black pepper add layers of savory warmth, while a hint of lemon zest or a dash of red pepper flakes can brighten the dish and provide a subtle kick.
What makes Shrimp and Broccoli Alfredo Pasta particularly appealing is its versatility. It can be dressed up for a special occasion or kept simple for a busy weeknight meal. The recipe comes together quickly, making it an ideal option for those who want to enjoy a homemade, comforting meal without spending hours in the kitchen. The combination of flavors and textures is both satisfying and nourishing, offering a little bit of everything you want in a pasta dish—creaminess, crunch, savory richness, and a burst of freshness from the broccoli.
Whether you serve it on its own or pair it with a light salad and garlic bread, Shrimp and Broccoli Alfredo Pasta is sure to become a favourite in your weeknight dinner rotation, delighting the whole family with its easy elegance and incredible taste. I love swapping out the protein for either chicken, salmon or shrimp in this recipe to switch up the overall vibe of the finished meal.

Chop up broccoli crowns into bite-sized pieces. Blanch the broccoli in a pot of boiling salted water for 1 minute until bright green and slightly tender. Once done, remove the broccoli and set it aside.
-
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Once boiling, salt the water and add in the pasta. Cook according to package instructions until al dente and make sure to reserve some pasta water at the end.
-
Heat a pan over medium-high heat and cook the shrimp for about 1 minute per side. Transfer the cooked shrimp to a plate.

In the same pan used to cook the shrimp, add in butter and garlic. Saute for 1-2 minutes, until garlic becomes fragrant. Then add in red pepper flakes, dried parsley, oregano, and dried basil.
-
Add in softened cream cheese, whisking until it melts in with the butter. Pour in heavy cream and whisk together. On a medium heat, simmer the sauce for 2-4 minutes to thicken slightly.
-
Finish the sauce with salt, pepper, and Pecorino Romano and mix well then add in a squeeze of lemon juice.
-
Pour in a little pasta water to thin the sauce slightly then add the al dente pasta, blanched broccoli, and cooked shrimp to the pan. Cover with a lid and simmer on a medium heat for 1-2 minutes.
